our travels
Our Unique Celebration
Our wedding journey took us around the world, celebrating our love in a way that felt deeply meaningful and true to who we are. Instead of a traditional wedding, we chose to immerse ourselves in diverse cultures, honor indigenous traditions, and connect with the beauty of the Earth. This journey allowed us to create intimate ceremonies in breathtaking locations, making memories that will last a lifetime.
Why We Chose This Path
We've always done things a little differently, and when it came to planning our wedding, the traditional path didn't quite resonate with us. We wanted something that truly reflected our values and passions. Instead of a one day celebration, we focused on our bucket list of travel, immersing ourselves in unique places and cultures, and creating intimate ceremonies. This journey allowed us to focus on experiences that brought us closer together and enriched our lives in ways we never imagined.

The Amazon Rainforest, Ecuador
Our journey began in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest, where we were honored to be welcomed by the Achuar people. The Achuar are indigenous guardians of the Amazon, deeply rooted in their ancestral wisdom and traditions. Their profound connection to the rainforest and its biodiversity inspired us deeply.
Our first wedding ceremony started with a Wayusa ritual at dawn. This sacred practice involves drinking wayusa tea, which comes from the leaves of the Amazon holly tree. While drinking wayusa tea, Achuar people share and interpret their dreams, creating a deep sense of community and spiritual connection.
As the sun rose, we stood beneath a towering kapok tree, receiving the Achuar's blessing for our union. This moment of meditation and connection with nature, accompanied by a traditional tobacco ceremony, was profoundly moving and set the tone for our journey.
The highlights of our time with the Achuar included learning about their sustainable way of life, exploring the lush rainforest, and understanding the importance of preserving this precious ecosystem. Their call to action to protect the Amazon resonated with us, reinforcing our commitment to honoring and safeguarding the Earth's natural beauty and cultural heritage.
The Great Pyramids of Egypt
Our next stop took us to the mystical land of Egypt, where the ancient wonders of Giza awaited us. Standing before the Great Pyramids and the stunning Sphinx, we felt a profound sense of history and timelessness. The pyramids, built as monumental tombs for the pharaohs, are a testament to human ingenuity and the enduring spirit of ancient Egyptian civilization.

Tanzania, Safari, and Maasai Blessing
Our journey continued to the vast and breathtaking landscapes of Tanzania, where the Serengeti plains stretch endlessly under the African sky. Here, we embarked on a thrilling safari adventure, witnessing the raw beauty of nature and the incredible diversity of wildlife. From majestic elephants and graceful giraffes to the powerful lions and the great migration of wildebeest, every moment was a celebration of the natural world’s wonders.
Amidst this awe-inspiring backdrop, we were honored to be invited into a Maasai village. The Maasai people, with their semi-nomadic lifestyle and deep connection to the Serengeti, welcomed us with open arms. Their vibrant culture, marked by colorful attire, intricate beadwork, and rhythmic dances, left us deeply moved.
In a heartfelt ceremony, the Maasai elders blessed our union. We were dressed in traditional Maasai garments, symbolizing the union of our spirits with the land and its people. The ceremony was filled with joyous singing, dancing, and the famous Maasai jumping ritual, bringing a unique and unforgettable energy to our celebration.
Our time in Tanzania was a profound experience, blending the majestic beauty of the Serengeti with the rich cultural heritage of the Maasai. It reinforced our commitment to honor and protect the diverse cultures and natural landscapes that make our world so extraordinary.

Known as the city of light, Varanasi is a place where life and death coexist in a profound spiritual tapestry. Here, the rituals and traditions are deeply rooted in centuries of devotion and reverence.
We arrived at dawn, witnessing the sacred rituals along the ghats as the first light of day touched the river.
